Catalonia’s Municipal Markets Reflect on Their Future

The Congress considered the role of the Municipal Markets in times of crisis, the evolution of prices and new consumer purchasing habits. It also addressed the Markets’ contribution to environmental management, the internationalisation of the Market model and good commercial practices.

The main conclusions drawn were that it is important to continue to focus on customer service and quality fresh produce as distinguishing features of Municipal Markets compared to other commercial options, and also how the Markets can reinvent themselves and adapt to changing consumer needs to ensure their future.
